I had a buddy with one of those back in the early 2000's. He threw thousands at that thing. Slammed with a C-notched frame, 20" viper wheels, bolt on’s galore. Used to spend a lot of time at Englishtown with it. Think his best time was 14 flat or thereabouts (not on the 20"s). Not bad for something thst heavy, but always thought it should have been a lot faster considering the obscene amount of displacement.

My basically stock Si ran 15 flat, with only 1.6 liters of vtec y0.

If only dodge could have managed to squeeze 100hp/liter out of that behemoth engine. That woulda been something.

I don’t know much about that particular engine, but it was only a 5.9, and truck gears generally aren’t the best for the track. Check the interwebs. There are some quick Dakotas out there.

14's were pretty respectable for a street vehicle, at least back then.

Pretty sure he had fiddled around in the pumpkin but unsure of what gears he was actually running.

5.9 might not be big in the truck world, but compared to my 1.6l econobox at the time it seemed unbelievably massive in comparison.

Either way, I liked it. I bet they’ve got em hauling some ass with the 16 years of progress since I last checked.
